Development of a remote sensing indicator framework to monitor forest resilience

In the face of increasing climate anomalies and societal demands on ecosystem services, forest management faces the challenge of efficiently recording resilience and vitality on a large scale. Paul Magdon and Svenja Dobelmann from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts are developing a concept to monitor key indicators for assessing resilience, such as tree species mix, structure and vitality, using remote sensing data. By combining different remote sensing sensors and platforms, resilience indicators are recorded at landscape level and used for spatial analysis.
