H₂O und CO₂ Fluxes

Assessing forest resilience to drought using CO₂ and H₂O flux-based indicators

Assessing forest resilience to drought using CO2 and H2O flux-based indicators

Climate extremes in recent years have strongly influenced H₂O and CO₂ exchange in Central European forests, which has reduced carbon sequestration and increased ecosystem warming. In subproject "H₂O und CO₂ Fluxes", Alexander Knohl and Simon Drollinger from the University of Göttingen are developing H₂O and CO₂ flux-based indicators to measure the resilience of forests to climate extremes in order to combine them with other indicators to create a multidimensional resilience indicator.
