What is the role of participation in the creation of climate-sensitive forms of urban design?
OpenPlanning: “Climate From The Roots” focuses on climate-related agency and self-efficacy of citizens and civil society initiatives through Citizen Science and other participatory formats.
Even though climate change is global, it can and must also be tackled locally by people who identify with and take care of their local environment and who feel heard by political, administrative and planning actors.
The everyday knowledge of citizens will be linked to formal planning processes to contribute to a more democratic, open and future-proof planning culture. The SubLab adopts a gendered and intersectional lens and aims to develop formats that are inviting to otherwise marginalized groups.
