We invite you to join us on an interactive neighbourhood walk around Erfurtplatz. We will focus our meeting on climate justice, map green infrastructure together and further develop the citizen survey on the climatic redesign of Erfurtplatz in collaboration with the ‘Heidberg Neighbourhood Development’ working group.

Sealed urban spaces heat up particularly in summer. This makes it all the more important to design them as cooling locations. Where are there trees and green spaces in the neighbourhood?

During our walk together, we would like to talk to you about issues relating to local climate adaptation.

*Where in the neighbourhood are there still enough trees and green spaces?

*How easily accessible are they?

*What can be done in the neighbourhood to combat heat stress?

*What specific measures would be suitable for Erfurtplatz?

Using the 3-30-300 rule*, we want to explore the neighbourhood together and find out where people can spend time on hot days and where improvements should be made. The 3-30-300 rule states that everyone should be able to see at least three trees from their home, school or workplace, live in a neighbourhood with at least 30 per cent tree canopy cover, and be no more than 300 metres from the nearest park or public green space.

We will provide snacks and refreshments. You bring your experiences and needs.

The walk will last a maximum of 90 minutes, after which we will return to the neighbourhood shop for coffee, tea and cake and continue our discussion.

We look forward to an inspiring afternoon with you.
